Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the North Star PTA! We know that every parent is busy, and not everyone can commit to being in the classroom during the day or attending meetings at night. We have plenty of opportunities for you to plug in and be a part of our school's success!

 VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

 Program  Chair
All Pro Dads
We believe in the importance of male role models in our kid's lives. All Pro Dads is a monthly breakfast that gives dads (and moms) the opportunity to spend time with their children while learning important lessons about character. Volunteer opportunities range from setting up tables the night before to collecting donated items from local grocery stores. Last Friday of the month (Sept, Oct, Jan, Feb, Mar).Kevin Hathaway
Community Partners
This group helps to connect local businesses as community partners with our school. With the support of local businesses we are able to provide additional educational resources for our kids. This position requires a little salesmanship to connect businesses to this opportunity, but we're eager to help you learn and find your groove!

Direct Donation Campaign (DDC)
At North Star Elementary School we don't ask our families to sell chocolate bars, wrapping paper or anything else. Instead we ask parents to donate directly to the PTA to help fund the additional programs for our kids. Your ideas on how to increase participation and get the word out are greatly appreciated!

Free Money
There are all types of resources that provide free money to our school. This committee helps communicate and organize these resources so that our parents can help make it happen. Examples would include: Amazon Smile, Smiths grocery, Boxtops, etc...Erica Lopez-Hamby
Fun Run
Be a part of North Star's newest student event! Help organize this week of wellness for our kids that culminates in a school day fun run supported by the community!Leslie Gunn
Howlin' at the Stars
Every Spring we have a huge community even; full of bounce houses, food vendors, raffles, silent auction, and so much more! If you are interested in learning more about how to be involved with this even,t we would love to connect you with the team!
One Book, One School
Every year we pick one book and the entire school reads it together! The week of the book reading has a few activities that revolve around the story of the book. It is a fun and simple time the entire school is unified on a single project. Select here if you want more information on being part of this team.Martha Muller
ReflectionsThis annual celebration of the arts is sponsored by the National Office of PTA. Your involvement in this committee will involve planning and encouraging student involvement in a variety of mediums designed to stimulate creativity around a particular theme.Maria Ash
Restaurant Nights
Reaching out to our local restaurants for partnership and support can be a huge blessing to North Star Elementary. If you are interested in learning more about how to recruit and coordinate these resources we would love to tell you more!
Science Fair
This is a super event that adds tremendous educational value to our school. Volunteer opportunities range from setting up tables and rounding up prizes to judging student entries. If you want more information on how to be part of the team that makes this happen we would love to talk to you about how you might fit in here!Monica Chavez
Sweet Treats
One of the ways we help encourage the staff at our school is to provide food for them once a month. Do you like to cook? Do you love to provide hospitality? Volunteering for this committee means contributing baked goods or lunch items, collecting gift cards, and/or setting up the teacher's lounge whenever you are able to help! Brooke McGarry
Staff Appreciation
We love our staff at North Star and show that affection at the end of the year with a phenomenal Staff Appreciation Week! Be a part of planning and executing a week of making sure our teachers, administrators and support staff know how loved they are. Jen Taylor
Wolf Pride Market
We use a positive reinforcement to encourage school pride, good attitudes and helpful hands around the school. Teachers and staff pass out 'Wolf Bucks' to students for good behavior, and this committee helps staff the reward booth for students to redeem them. The market is only open one Friday morning each month. It is a low time commitment and a ton of fun to see the smiles on our kids faces.Wendy McMurtry
